Wandile Tonqa

Wandile is a Studio Technician in the Digital Media Unit at CILT, where he supports high-quality media production within the studio environment. His role focuses on the setup, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment for both live and recorded productions, ensuring smooth and reliable production workflows.

He works across a range of activities, including studio preparation, directing, vision mixing, live streaming, on-location filming, and post-production editing. He collaborates with academic and production teams to support online course development and digital learning initiatives through technically sound and well-produced media.

Wandile has over a decade of experience in the creative industry, with expertise in photography, videography, video editing, live streaming and location sound recording. He holds a Certificate in Digital Filmmaking from the University of Johannesburg, along with certification in DaVinci Resolve editing and training in webcasting and live streaming production. He is also committed to skills development and community engagement, supporting initiatives that build digital production skills and expand access to opportunities in the creative industries.
