Amathuba Accelerate

Amathuba Accelerate is CILT’s initiative to enhance course design and teaching through UCT’s digital learning ecosystem. It aims to improve student success by integrating innovative, evidence-based digital tools and strategies. The pilot phase will focus on large first-year or undergraduate courses, collaborating with lecturers to co-design targeted interventions that address key teaching and learning challenges while aligning with faculty and institutional priorities.

Together, we co-create tailored solutions that integrate thoughtful pedagogy, purposeful use of digital tools, and staff development opportunities to strengthen teaching practice and support student success.

The Process

• Promoting inclusive blended learning strategies (using ENABLE);
• Enhancing the use of platform tools to support engagement, course management and course design;
• Supporting assessment design or redesign processes;
• Providing learning platform data and insights to inform teaching, course/programme management, student success etc.; and
• Building capacity within teaching teams.

• In-depth consultations;
• Course design guidance;
• Bespoke training;
• Referrals to other CILT services;
• Course site reports with actionable recommendations;
• Limited hands-on setup of course sites; and
• Monitoring and evaluation.
