Exploring Practical, Real-World Use of Gradescope Across Disciplines.

The Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) invites lecturers from UCT faculties and colleagues from external institutions who are interested to join our new Gradescope Community of Practice—a collaborative space where colleagues share how they use this increasingly popular assessment tool to streamline marking, enhance feedback, and improve the student learning experience.

Although Gradescope has gained strong traction in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, and Statistics, its powerful rubric-driven workflows and support for handwritten and digital submissions make it valuable across all disciplines. This CoP is designed to help lecturers explore practical possibilities, learn from peers, and gain confidence in adopting the tool.

What to Expect

  • Every session begins with a showcase where a member of staff demonstrates how they use Gradescope in one of their courses - highlighting benefits, practical tips, and real-world workflows.

  • A chance to ask questions, exchange ideas, and get suggestions from a growing community of users.
