Zaaid Orrie

Zaaid leads Learning Technologies Services at CILT, where he is responsible for managing and supporting UCT’s learning technologies. He oversees the CILT Helpdesk team and works to ensure that systems are reliable, accessible and effectively support teaching and learning across the university.

His role focuses on enabling the effective use of learning technologies, providing expert support to staff and students, and promoting innovative approaches to digital learning. Together with his team, he ensures that core platforms and tools run smoothly, allowing academic staff and students to focus on teaching and learning.

Zaaid has over eight years of experience in educational technology and holds a Postgraduate Diploma. He has played a key role in strengthening support for learning technologies at UCT, contributing to more effective and reliable digital learning environments.
