Kristin van Tonder

Learning Designer

Kristin is a Learning Designer at the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT), in the CHL team, where she supports and enhances teaching and learning in blended and online environments. She works closely with academic and professional staff to design, review and improve courses, ensuring alignment between pedagogy, technology and curriculum goals.

Her work focuses on accessibility, curriculum and course design and the effective use of learning technologies. She also contributes to the development of staff support resources and learning materials, and to projects that strengthen the integration of digital learning across the institution.

Kristin has significant experience in higher education learning design and academic support, with a focus on online learning and accessibility. She holds a degree in Molecular Biology and Psychology, a PGCE, and an Honours degree in Education, and is currently completing a Master’s in Education. Her work reflects a strong commitment to high-quality, accessible digital transformation in higher education.
