Kristin van Tonder
Kristin is a Learning Designer at CILT, bringing a wealth of experience across the primary, secondary, and higher education sectors. She has a strong focus on designing inclusive and accessible digital learning environments.
She previously worked in the Edtech sector, where she led the design and development of online courses, supported curriculum innovation, and contributed to staff development through training and multimedia content creation.
At UCT, Kristin contributed to the Redesigning Blended Courses (RBC) project, which aimed to enhance educational accessibility by integrating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. Building on this experience, she partnered with the Including Disability in Education in Africa (IDEA) Research Unit to develop a short course on UDL for educators.
She holds a B.Ed Honours from UCT, as well as a PGCE and a B.Sc from Stellenbosch University, and is currently completing her M.Ed in Curriculum Studies at UCT.
