Dr Greig Krull
Greig Krull is an Academic Staff Developer and Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) at the University of Cape Town. His work focuses on post-digital education, including blended and online learning, AI integration, assessment, facilitation and learning analytics in higher education.
He works with academic staff through workshops, webinars, consultations, and curriculum design and review processes to support responsive and effective teaching practices. He teaches on the School of Education’s Postgraduate Diploma and Master’s in Educational Technology, the Postgraduate Diploma in Blended and Online Learning Design (BOLD), and a range of short courses. He also supervises postgraduate students in the field of educational technology and higher education.
Greig’s current research focuses on academic staff development for blended and online learning design, with particular attention to academic professional learning and the use of data analytics to inform learning design and facilitation practices in higher education.
He holds a PhD in Education and ICT (eLearning) from the Open University of Catalonia and an MCom in Information Systems from Rhodes University. He currently serves as co-Deputy Chairperson of the Higher Education Learning and Teaching Association of Southern Africa (HELTASA) and is a member of the International Advisory Board for the International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education.
