Desireé McKie
Des supports The Learning Store, UCT’s short-course e-commerce platform, along with a range of learning technologies used across the university. She works closely with faculties, short-course units, finance, vendors and CILT colleagues to ensure that platforms such as The Learning Store, Amathuba, Turnitin and Opencast run smoothly and meet user needs.
Her role includes onboarding short courses, supporting platform operations, assisting with payments and SAP processes, and helping staff make practical use of digital learning tools.

Des holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Digital Marketing and brings experience in supporting learning technologies within higher education. Her work focuses on practical, user-centred solutions and effective collaboration across faculties and institutional systems.
