Lauren Butler

Senior Project Coordinator and Online Learning Designer

Lauren is a Senior Project Coordinator and Online Learning Designer at CILT. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Stellenbosch University, she completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Disability Studies in 2020, and is currently busy with her MPhil in Disability Studies, which focuses on Universal Design for Learning. Lauren has a wide range of job experiences; from technical writer, to Japanese Abacus Maths teacher, to remedial teacher. She is passionate about teaching and learning, in particular about course design, production, and presentation of the learning journey. Lauren's interests have led her to the CILT team and she is excited to be in the higher education space. Lauren is deeply interested in educational spaces becoming inclusive and equitable, herself having bilateral cochlear implants and having experienced exclusion and othering.
