Diann Selman
Learning Designer
Diann holds an undergraduate degree in Film & Media Production and a Master's in Film Studies. Her previous roles in UCT's tertiary education sphere have included tutor, teaching assistant, computer laboratory sessions assistant, course convener, and more recently, education technologist. These roles, spanning nearly a decade, have culminated in her current post which, concisely put, involves course site design and navigation, course refreshing, problem solving, project collaborations within CILT. Diann's graphic design background, in combination with her prior experience in the institution sparked, and continues to drive, her passion for the convergence of digital media with tertiary education. She is currently enhancing her educational tech expertise through the practice-led development of the Brightspace LMS for UCT, alongside colleagues, to achieve the goal of a well-integrated ecosystem that follows a blended/hybrid learning model, to overcome the current, unprecedented, challenges presented by the pandemic.
