Online Learning Environments Developer
Corné is a web site and applications developer with a passion for creating usable and user-friendly designs. The implementations he strives to create eases the completion of actions and tasks. He has worked in a range of environments starting with lecturing and e-learning to enterprise production, tracking, financial services, bespoke software development, and business intelligence.
His current project
In particular, it focuses on Vula, UCT's online learning management system, and the lecture recording which is growing across campus. Vula and lecture recording are both based on open-source technologies, connected to the Sakai and Opencast projects respectively. Sam's team also supports other technologies that facilitate learning and teaching such as video conferencing and Turnitin, and engages with the opensource community on various other Apereo projects such as Xerte and Tsugi.
