Understanding Student Engagement on Amathuba Through Course-Level Analytics

Course level analytics – understanding how students are engaging with your course o n Amathuba. Getting to know the tools that are available and structuring your course on Amathuba in order to get data about engagement. Useful to see how students are interacting with your course to give you information so that you can understand how they are using your materials and inform how you structure your course going forward. Time spent on the platform. Getting feedback based on their behaviour/engagement on the learning management system.

As educators, we invest considerable effort in designing our courses but we don't always have clear visibility into how students are actually experiencing them. Which resources are they returning to? Where are they spending their time? What might their engagement patterns tell us about how they're learning?

Amathuba captures this data. This webinar will help you make sense of it.

Join us for a 60-minute lunchtime session on Learning Analytics for Teaching and Learning at UCT — a practical introduction to the analytics tools available to you and how to use them meaningfully.

You'll leave with:

  • A clear overview of the analytics tools on Amathuba and the engagement data they provide
Guidance on how to structure your course to generate more useful data
  • A framework for using these insights to inform your course design on an ongoing basis
No prior experience with learning analytics is needed.
