Wandile Tonqa
Wandile is responsible for assisting with all day-to-day aspects of the running of all CILT studios at the University of Cape Town. His role includes but is not limited to supporting students and lectures who are using One Button studios to create online learning material. Wandile sets up the studios according to the booking system to accommodate the end user as well as organises and set up all users in the studios before recordings according to the studio processes and briefs from the video producer and studio coordinator. Furthermore, Wandile operates all equipment in the studio in terms of the lights, cameras and teleprompter using apps and appropriate equipment.
With over 15 years of industry experience, he is a multi-talented filmmaker, a sought-after sound recordist and technical specialist. As a self-taught photographer and videographer, he started his career in 2009 where he worked with numerous production companies as a Cameraman and Technical support in Live television set up for reputable companies such as Reb Bull TV, Super Sport, Okuhle Media, Buchanan Group SA, Titanium TV, Diamension TV Move Media to name but a few.
Having been responsible for linking up local studios and other West African Studios via satellite, Wandile has experienced with multiple discipline in the film industry such as Camera , Vision Mixing directing , and Location Sound recordist. He truly understands the power and importance of content production.
