Dr Cheng-Wen Huang

Cheng-Wen Huang is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT), University of Cape Town (UCT). She teaches on the Postgraduate Diploma in Blended and Online Learning Design programme as well as works on various projects that involve assessment, course evaluations and use of generative AI in higher education. She has a research background in multimodal social semiotics, argumentation, academic literacies, digital literacies, assessment and social justice (see her list of publications on Google Scholar).

She holds a PhD in Education from the University of Cape Town. Her PhD research explored the possibilities of adopting a multimodal approach to academic argument.
