Learning Technologies Consultant

Des supports The Learning Store, UCT’s short‑course e‑commerce platform, along with a range of learning technologies used across the university. She works closely with faculties, short‑course units, finance, vendors and CILT colleagues to ensure The Learning Store, and platforms such as Amathuba, Turnitin and Opencast, run smoothly and meet user needs. Her role includes onboarding short courses, supporting platform operations, assisting with payments and SAP processes, and helping staff make practical use of digital learning tools.

  • Help setting up or running short courses on The Learning Store 
  • Advice or support with CILT‑supported learning technologies 
  • Guidance or training on platform workflows and processes 

Des holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Digital Marketing and has several years of experience supporting learning technologies in higher education, with a strong focus on practical solutions and cross‑faculty collaboration.
